Description: | We are absolutely delighted to announce that Bob Chilcott will be joining us on Saturday February 8th for our 2025 Come and Sing event. Places are limited so please ensure that you book early. We will be focussing on A Little Jazz Mass and Five Days that Changed the World. Our accompanist for the day will be Andrew Wicker, and we will also be joined by Peter McLoughlin on double bass. Andrew is an amazing musician who regularly plays at the Albert Hall, and he is also a composer. Pete plays with Swindon Symphony Orchestra and is a former singer with Swindon Choral Society. Hailed by The Observer as “a contemporary hero of British choral music”, Chilcott is renowned as both a conductor and composer. Born in Plymouth in 1955, the family soon moved to Watford where he joined the church choir. He then sang with the choir at Kings College, Cambridge as a chorister and choral scholar, and joined the vocal group The King’s Singers. Chilcott became a full time composer and conductor in 1997, and has composed a large catalogue of choral music that reflects his broad view of musical styles and genres. He is Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Singers and is conductor of the Birmingham University Singers. He has guest-conducted choirs in more than thirty countries. Please either: 1.
